I had made a small mistake in the dates that I added to the rear of the card. Now corrected. I have made the image downloadable as per the front and back together and also the front and back separated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helen is Helen Alice Mary Logan who married Sidney Malcolm Berry in 1907. The eldest child is Barbara Helen born in 1911 and (Kathleen) Margaret born 1916 which would date this photo\/letter around 1921\/22. Max had been gassed during the war and in 1921\/1922 he would have still been married to Florence Nightingale Walton nee Wilson. They divorced in 1927 and Max remarried in 1928 to Elsie Corby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These photographs came from Dorothy Dowling who was the granddaughter of Samuel Charles Logan, Headmaster of the Royal Grammar School in Newcastle so I am of a mind that these would be Samuel Charles Logan and Clara Taylor Logan nee Baker but that is not definitive as the photographs have no identification on them. The fact that the male appears to be in school master garb doesn't really narrow it down as there were others in the family that were schoolmasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christine Logan (1889-1971) was the second youngest of John and Alice Logan. It was said that she was semi-adopted by her Aunt Mary - John's sister - which would have been around the time that John was experiencing problems with bankruptcy in the 1890s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

George Wilfred Holford-Knight (187-1936) KC MP as an MP pushed for women to be admitted to the bar, pushed to make divorce easier and, in a time of national crisis, crossed the floor and voted with the government - he chose country over party and he was expelled from the party because of it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The South Nottingham Labour Party at a special meeting held yesterday to discuss the position of their member, Mr. Holford-Knight, K.C., unanimously decided to dissociate itself from his policy and to request his resignation.  Instructions were given to procure another candidate.  Mr Knight was present at the meeting, which was private, and made a statement defending his action in voting for the National Government.  Interviewed afterwards he said, \"As I expected, they stand by the national party machine.  I stand by the country.\"\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n
