White Satin Gown Worn at St. Mary's

White satin was worn by Mary Veronica Radcliffe for her wedding on Saturday to James Norman Rosewarne, ex-A.I.F., in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Casino, by Rev. Father Relihan.

The bride, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Radcliffe, of 53 Barker Street, Casino, was given away by her father. The groom is a son of Mr. J. H. Rosewarne, of 2 James Street, Seddon, Melbourne.

Her gown featured a swallowtail peplum matched by a shoulder cape. She wore a halo headdress of white satin and a long tulle veil, carrying a bouquet of gladioli and roses. Matron of honour, Mrs. Leo Hogan, wore a cornflower blue frock made with a long waist, finished at the edge with narrow band and tie. Blue tulle worn over her head was finished with pink side posies, and she carried a small bouquet of roses and carnations.

John Hogan was best man.

The Bride's aunt sang "Ave Maria" in the church.

Mrs. Radcliffe received guests at a reception - held at her home.

Mr. and Mrs. Rosewarne, junr, will live in Sydney after a honeymoon at Brunswick Heads.

(The correct spelling of Mary's surname is Ratcliffe but I've transcribed the article as it was written with the spelling as Radcliffe.)

The image in the header is that of Wilfred Joseph Ratcliffe (1857-1930) born in Australia to Joseph and Phillipine.

Wilfred and Catherine nee Meaney had ten children, who, amongst other things, excelled as sportsmen.
