DR. JOWETT'S SUCCESSOR - CARR'S LANE

The Rev. Sidney M. Berry, who has been chosen to succeed the Rev. Dr Jowett at Carrs Lane Church, Birmingham, although only 36 years of age is already famous as a brilliant preacher.

He is a son of the late Rev. Dr Charles Berry, and was educated at Tettenhall College. From there he went to Clare College, Cambridge, where he took his degree.

Before entering the ministry he went through four years theological course at Mansfield College, Oxford, under the late Dr Fairbairn. He began his ministry in the Surrey village of Oxted, and went from there to the Macfadyen Memorial Church, Manchester.

His tone Is strongly evangelical and he displays great energy In every branch of church work.
