
The men at the Footscray fire brigade station held a most successful dance In the New Orama at Footscray last night, to make a contribution to the mayor of Footscray's bush-fire relief fund.
More than 800 people attended and enjoyed the excellent programme that had been arranged. To further their donation, the management of the New Orama supplied the use of the hall and the orchestra, and so that there should be no expenses, supper was not served.
The mayor of Footscray. Cr. A. E. Turner, accompanied by Mrs. Turner, who wore a frock of silver cloque with a little matching jacket. Mr. Holden, M.L.A., and councillors of Footscray and their wives attended. They were welcomed by the members of the committee: — Station officer, M Logan, who was president; the hon. secretary, Mr. E. Ascott; and Messrs. F. Hill, T. Allan, F. Boyack. W. Swlnglcr, R. Wilcox, J. Jennings and E. Evcndcn.
